Servings: 1 martini
- 3 oz vodka
- 3 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1.5 oz triple sec
- 1.5 oz raspberry simple syrup
Raspberry Simple Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries. Stir to dissolve the sugar and bring to a gentle boil. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the raspberries are broken down. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a jar and discard solids.
On a small plate, combine 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon lemon zest. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass and dip the rim into the lemon sugar mixture.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 3 oz vodka, 3 oz lemon juice, 1.5 oz triple sec or Cointreau, and 1.5 oz raspberry simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds, or until the shaker is frosty.
Strain into the prepared cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon slice and a fresh raspberry.
