Ingredients

Cinnamon Pear Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pear chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Cinnamon Sugar Rim

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Cinnamon Pear Gin Fizz

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz cinnamon pear simple syrup
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • splash of club soda
  • pear slice, anise star, ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan set over medium heat, add 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1 cinnamon stick and 1 chopped pear. Bring to a boil and gently boil for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the simple syrup to sit for another 5-10 minutes to allow the pear and cinnamon flavor to continue to seep into the syrup. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a jar.
  • On a small plate, combine cinnamon and sugar. Use the lemon to wet the rim of the cocktail glass. Press the rim of the glass into the cinnamon sugar until it sticks to the glass.
  • To a cocktail shaker without ice, add the gin, lemon juice, egg white and cinnamon pear simple syrup. Cover the cocktail shaker with the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  • Remove the lid and add ice. Replace the lid and shake again for 10-15 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker frosts over.
  • Fill the prepared cocktail glass with ice. Strain cocktail into the glass. Garnish the cocktail with a pear slice and a dash of cinnamon.
