Hello! Welcome to Thechowdown! My name is Kasey, I’m 29 years old and I live in upstate NY. From a young age, I developed a passion for cooking from my small but close knit family. We could always be found all in the kitchen together, trying to tell one another what to do and annoying the heck out of my mom :D. My passion for cooking led me to pursue an education in culinary arts. I received my associates degree in culinary arts/baking from Schenectady County Community College. I moved on to earning a Bachelors degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from New England Culinary Institute. I pursued the restaurant industry route for a few years however, the long hours and meager pay forced burn out. Instead, I used Instagram as an outlet for my passion for cooking. Thechowdown Instagram was born many years ago and has developed a small following of fellow foodies. I am now taking things up a notch and starting this website as a home for all my recipes. I hope to share my passion for cooking, recipes, tips, favorite products and more. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to provide any comments or feedback!
